VENUE INFORMATION This page provides a general overview of the venue. For more detailled information look at the events information and the price list pages. On this page: Hall Facilities Staffing Catering/Drinks Decorations Availability/booking periods/finish times The venue is suitable for meetings, conferences, receptions, dinner and dance functions, concerts, lectures and stage events up to 90 guests on the first floor (small hall suite) and 200 guests on the ground floor (main hall and lobby). High quality technical systems are available: wide screen projection, PA, staging and theatre lighting. Halls have fan ventilation. Conference equipment and wifi available. Reception is always manned. Conferences and functions are allocated an event manager. Except where included in commercial rates or options we do not provide event cleaning, security, technical support etc in order to reduce the costs to the user. You can hire external caterers, or do your own catering. The ground floor kitchen is suitable as a base for function catering (extra charge), see events information for details. The first floor suite is suitable only for limited serving of prepared food. Alcohol drinks can be served or sold (sales requires a temporary event licence). There are no corkage or bar charges. You are welcome to decorate the main hall provided that the decorations are put up and removed within the booking period. See events information for details. 5) AVAILABILITY / BOOKING PERIODS / FINISH TIMES Please contact reception for availability. Booking periods are detailled on the website pages and in the price lists. The latest finish times are: Meetings: Ground floor: Monday to Tuesday 11PM Functions Ground floor: Thursday 11PM (Amplified Music till 10:30PM) Bookings can be taken up to 12 months in advance. Reservations are held for 3 days for bookings 3 weeks in advance, 24 hours if less. The maximum sound level in the main hall is 97dBC (quiet to moderate disco level) controlled by sound limiters. The maximum in the small hall is 85dBA. The in house PA speakers must be used, brought in speakers not permitted except for approved professional PA companies. The church is a Christian community. Religious material from other religions, immoral, explicit or occult themes are not appropriate. Advertising and events which affect the church’s public image are subject to approval. General commercial selling is not permitted. Exceptions may be made for product launches, local business special events, ethical and charity sales etc. Party political campaigning is not permitted. Other party meetings can be booked at community rates subject to approval of the event content The limitations are based on the church’s values, trust deed, obligations to our neighbours, and charity law. See Contact and Map page Any function booking period can be booked for a wedding ceremony. 9) DEDICATION OF CHILDREN / BAPTISM As a Baptist congregation we practise baptism for adults and children old enough to make their own decision about faith. For babies and younger children we celebrate their arrival in the community with a service of dedication.
