3) MAIN HALL ACOUSTICS

The main hall acoustics have been designed by our acoustic consultant Simon Kahn.

The room, which would naturally be too reverberant due to its many hard surfaces, is partially damped. This gives an acoustic which is optimised to give a reasonable fullness for music and singing, whilst also ensuring good clarity for speech.

Both ends of the room have large areas of perforated timber surfaces behind which mineral wool acts as an absorber, reducing the amount of sound echoing around the room. The
Decoustics Solo product is manufactured with pinstripe vertical slots and sprayed with a high quality paint finish, making it indistinguishable from other architectural finishes in the room.

The acoustic is excellent for worship and other acoustic performances. Spoken speech clarity is good with a small audience, and excellent with larger numbers of people in the room.

The design specification for reverberation is available.

5) PAVEMENT GOBO PROJECTOR

You can obtain your own gobo (cutouts or glass images) for the pavement projector over the main front door.

To order a gobo you will need to provide an artwork for them to cut.  The spec of what is required is here: http://www.dhalighting.co.uk/custgoboaw.htm

If you don’t know anyone who can do this, DHA will make artwork and gobo for you at extra cost.

The projector is a Derksen GL200 gobo size 70mm OD 35mm image

6) PA MIKES AND SPEAKERS

There is a portable speaker unit which can fill either hall with background music or exercise music played from the built in CD player, or from iPod, laptop, phone or other minijack source.

The portable speaker can also be used with one wired and one wireless microphone.

In the main hall 2 wireless microphones and one instrument pack can be set to preset levels. This is a permanent installed system and is included in the hall charge.

For dinner parties or other events requiring background music at a level that can be talked over, we can provide PA connection at a lower charge than the full PA service. The sound will be on automatic limiter to the event sound limit usually 89dBA.

Information on the PA equipment and PA service is on the PA / tech systems page.

7) INTERNET AND PRINTING

Wifi and RJ45 Ethernet in all rooms and on the technical console.
Our broadband is a just a single Plusnet connection so you should always ensure you have offline options for your sound or video.
